The Cleveland Theatre Company, Assoc Artistic Director 1993-1996
The Cleveland Theatre Company is an eight year old producing organization founded by Thomas Q. Fulton, Artistic Director and Bill Meckler, General Manager to produce classic works of theatre using primarily Cleveland based talent. From 1994 through 1996, CTC was in residence at Cleveland State University. In 1994, I joined the faculty as a Visiting Associate Professor and was instrumental in securing CSU's Factory Theatre as the new home for CTC. During that time I acted as Associate Artistic Director. One of my primary responsibilities was to act as liaison with the University in matters of space utilization, negotiating contracts with the appropriate service agencies within the University, coordination of student fellowships and scholarships, and coordination of PR and fund raising efforts with appropriate personnel in the Office of Development. Other duties included artistic collaboration with the Artistic Director in matters of play selection and casting, fund raising, dramaturgy and whatever other duties in support of the artistic mission arose from time to time.

Doraema Inc., Vice President 1992-95
Doraema, Inc was a 501c(3) organization founded by Wayne S. Turney and Christy Bower of Williamsport, PA. I shepherded the formation of the corporation including drafting the articles of incorporation, the three year budget, and coordinated with legal counsel all the necessary steps for filing our tax-free status. We were granted our preliminary 501c(3) status in only six months from our original filing. As Vice-President, I was responsible for fundraising, grant writing, bookkeeping, long range strategic planning and performance production, federal forms and filings, and day to day management of the corporation. This was a part-time position.

Ohio Theatre Enterprise Fund Acting Managing Director 1991
OTEF was founded to test an idea for funding small for-profit theatres in Ohio by providing seed money at very low interest and virtually no risk to low-budget theatre projects. My function was to plan budgets and operating schemes, devise an implementation strategy and seek support from various community and corporate sources. Accordingly, working with a seed grant from Actors' Equity Association, I established liaisons with the University of Cincinnati Business Administration Department, Weatherhead School of Management, The Cleveland Foundation, The George Gund Foundation, The Cleveland Bank Clearing House, Ohio Arts Council and others. I also designed and developed a comprehensive database of people interested in the project and was instrumental in hiring the next Managing Director.

Cleveland Actors' Theatre Company Founder, Managing Director, 1989
CATCo was a for-profit Ohio corporation which produced professional theatre at the Hanna Theatre on Playhouse Square in Cleveland, Ohio. As founder of the corporation, I was responsible for writing the articles of incorporation, seeking and securing start-up capital, hiring staff and organizing volunteers. As managing director, I hired and supervised artistic and administrative staffs, oversaw the day to day management of the corporation including payroll, banking, artistic direction, long range planning, contract negotiations, building utilization and maintenance, chief cookery bottle-washing. We successfully produced four full Equity productions on an initial capitalization of only $65,000.00.

Ohio New Play Festival Founder, Artistic Director, 1988
Operating with a grant from Lorain County Community College, I produced three Equity world premieres. Duties included artistic direction, play selection, stage direction, dramaturgy, casting, staffing, payroll, AEA contract negotiations, compliance and filings.

Cleveland Play House Dramaturg 1986-1988
With wide ranging artistic and administrative responsibilities, I was second in command at the nation's oldest resident repertory theatre. I was principle advisor to the Artistic Director. I provided program notes, research materials to directors and designers and study guides for school audiences for two full seasons of main stage productions. I also supervised a large group of volunteers who gave over 600 new plays their first reading. I personally read all plays that received a positive recommendation from one or more reader. I oversaw the New Voices/New Directions Play Reading Series at CPH, choosing scripts, casting, publicizing and evaluating twelve varied plays over two years. More than half of the plays which I selected for staged readings went on to full productions at various Equity theatres nationwide.

T&M was a for profit Ohio Corporation which we founded and operated as a parent for various projects including paymaster for The Ohio New Play Festival and Tumago Productions.

Tumago Productions Managing Partner 1985-1990
Tumago was formed with Music Arts, Inc. to produce and market a deluxe audio tape of Dickens' platform recording of A Christmas Carol as a book on tape.

Tops in Blue '72 Tour, Commander 1972
As the ranking officer, I commanded a company of thirty winners of the USAF national talent contest on a tour of 52 sites in 43 days from Disneyland to the northernmost radar site in the Continental US.
