THE
MERRY WIVES OF WINDSOR,Gray Chapel April 1967
O
Sweet Sir John. Here I am as Master Ford with perhaps the single
greatest influence on me as an actor, the incomparable Don Eyssen in his
swan song. I remember we all got together and bought him a gold signet
ring as a memorial. He had wanted to inscribe it with "Let the heavens
rain potatoes, I have lived long enough!" But it wouldn't fit, so
we settled for "O sweet Sir John."
Fleeing the buck basket.
There is no higher
calling than that of clown.
Here
we are with Sarah Couch and Sue Burkhalter.
Years later, remembering those days, Don said to me, "We
had prime acting in those days. Prime acting..." He
was right.
