"O sweet Sir John."

THE PHYSICISTS by Friedrich Duerrenmatt, Quons-Hut Theatre, March 1967

Here I am with Frank Corrado. "Do you really think I'm Sir Isaac Newton, Inspector, or are you just having us on?"

This is the show that began my lifelong fascination with the brilliant Swiss dramatist. A couple of years later, I appeared with G.W. Bailey in The Deadly Game at the Lubbock Theater Center. I was well on my way to a dissertation on him when Don Blakely, my advisor in graduate school passed on. Years later I took a crack at directing this one at CTC.

Here are the three loonies. Jack Wells (center) as Einstein--killed shortly after on the way back from Spring break--and intense Paul Cronin as Johann Wilhelm Moebius.
