This beautiful production was the brainchild of Bo Rabby, who has headed the Theatre Department at OWU since Dr. Robert R. Crosby's retirement. Bo had joined the faculty my senior year (1968) and I had only worked with him as designer. I'd never had a chance to be directed by him. As he is about toretire, this was about our last chance at OWU. When I was asked to return to my alma mater to teach for the spring term filling in for Dr. Bonnie Gardner, and to do Prospero on a Guest Artists contract, I didn't hesitate. This was also my first opportunity to perform in what I still regard as the "new" building, the truly wonderful Chappelear Drama Center, which opened a few years after I graduated. I has been maintained and updated so conscientiously that it has the feel of an absolutely new facility.
